RIMAUNEWS, OKU Timur- Air merupakan sumber kehidupan dan kebutuhan dasar makhluk hidup di muka bumi. Sejalan dengan pertambahan dan perkembangan penduduk, maka kebutuhan terhadap air pun semakin meningkat. Terlebih lagi peningkatan kebutuhan air tidak diimbangi oleh jumlah air yang tersedia di muka bumi ini, karena ketersediaan air tidak pernah bertambah dan tidak tersebar secara merata.
Permasalahan tersebut nyatanya sering terjadi di beberapa wilayah di Indonesia, salah satunya di wilayah Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Menanggapi hal itu, Global Wakaf ACT Sumsel terus berikhtiar untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih melalui program pembangunan Sumur Wakaf Produktif.
Kali ini, sebanyak 10 sumur wakaf siap dibangun dan dalam proses pengeboran di beberapa titik wilayah yang krisis air bersih serta beberapa pondok pesantren yang masih minim air bersih. Menurut Aris, Staff Program ACT Sumsel rencana awal pembangunan sumur wakaf sementara ini ditujukan untuk pondok pesantren yang notabene krisis air dan kondisinya memprihatinkan.
“Dari beberapa wilayah yang kita Assesment, OKU Timur merupakan daerah yang memiliki Ponpes terbanyak di Sumsel, tapi masih banyak pesantren yang tidak memiliki sumber air bersih yang layak, malah ada juga yang sumber airnya hanya mengandalkan tadah hujan, jadi saat musim kemarau tiba santri-santri disana kesulitan untuk beribadah dan aktivitas lainnya, insyaAllah sumur wakaf ini akan sangat bermanfaat dan bernilai jariyah,” kata dia
Pesantren Al-Fattah, yang berada di desa bunga mayang, OKU Timur menjadi salah satu ponpes yang akan menjadi target sasaran sumur wakaf ACT. Ponpes yang dihuni oleh 175 santri ini hanya mengandalkan air dari sumur galian untuk mencukupi kebutuhan sehari-hari, jika musim kemarau tiba para santri terpaksa harus mengambil air di kolam penampungan yang berada di sawah dengan kondisi air yang berwarna dan tak layak
Diwadia, selaku Branch Manager ACT Palembang mengatakan bahwa, target pembangunan sumur di Sumatera Selatan cukup banyak. Alhamdulillah hingga saat ini telah terbangun sebanyak 43 titik sumur wakaf baik untuk masyarakat umum, ponpes, hingga masjid.
“Alhamdulillah, insyaAllah mulai bulan September ini, kita akan kembali membangun sumur wakaf untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan air bersih. 10 Sumur Wakaf siap dibangun di wilayah OKU Timur, sementara ini kita peruntukkan dulu untuk pondok pesantren karena amanah masyarakat, kemudian selanjutnya kita peruntukkan untuk masyarakat umum di wilayah Palembang, OKU Timur, Banyuasin, dan Musi Banyuasin,” jelas Diwa(Aw)
