RIMAUNEWS, PALEMBANG- Gubernur Sumsel H Herman Deru turut merasakan duka mendalam usai mendengar kabar wafatnya Ketua KPU Sumsel Kelly Mariana, Minggu (17/1).

Herman Deru mengaku kehilangan sosok sahabat dan rekan kerja terbaik dalam membangun Sumsel.

“Ketua KPU Sumsel,Ibu Kelly putri terbaik di Sumsel ini. Saya turut berbelasungkawa atas wafatnya beliau,” kata Herman Deru.

Dia menyebut, banyak hal yang dilakukan almarhumah Kelly untuk kemajuan Sumsel ini. Salah satunya yakni kesuksesan jalannya pilkada yang digelar di 7 kabupaten dan kota beberapa waktu lalu.

Dimana sebelum pelaksanaan pilkada, almarhumah kerap berkoordinasi terkait agar pilkada tersebut berjalan lancar tanpa mengesampingkan protokol kesehatan yang mutlak harus dilakukan. Sehingga petugas lapangan tetap aman dalam menjalankan tugasnya dan masyarakat juga merasa nyaman.

Salah satu contoh yakni almarhumah langsung berkoordinasi ketika petugas lapangan hendak dilantik sementara KPU belum ada anggaran untuk rapid test.

Tak hanya untuk rapid tes, dia juga berupaya menyediakan APD dan lain-lain di suatu kabupaten yang belum teranggarkan agar petugas lapangan itu bisa terlindungi dari Covid-19.

“Menurut saya, beliau sudah sebagai lilin yang menerangi dan bahkan badannya sendiri dirongrong oleh penyakit nya dan tidak terselamatkan lagi,” tuturnya.

Berkat upaya kerasnya tersebut minim keluhkan dari masyarakat pemilih. Soal hak-hak pemilihan mulai dari daftar pemilih sementara (DPS) sampai daftar pemilih tetap (DPT) masyarakat tidak mengeluhkan adanya masalah pendataan dan semua terakomodir dengan baik.

“Bagi saya beliau hebat dan saya betul-betul merasa kehilangan mitra. Saya salutnya dengan Buk Kelly ia selalu berkoordinasi, dengan tidak mengorbankan independensi nya,” ungkapnya.

Untuk itu, Herman Deru pun berpesan kepada masyarakat agar tidak menganggap enteng COVID-19

“Bahwa ini sudah saatnya untuk kita sadar. Bahwa kita harus melawan ini selain dengan 3M (memakai masker, mencuci tangan dan menjaga jarak). Lalu dengan vaksin. Ayolah masyarakat jangan diragukan lagi vaksin ini, ikut vaksin,” pungkasnya.
