RIMAUNEWS, PALEMBANG – Usai menghadiri acara Senam Massal Dalam Rangka Memeriahkan Hari Olahraga Nasional (Haornas) ke 39 Tahun 2022 yang Diselenggarakan oleh Bank Sumsel Babel, Gubernur Sumsel H Herman Deru meninjau Stadion Gelora Sriwijaya.
Peninjauan tersebut merupakan bentuk dari kesiapan Sumsel sebagai tuan rumah
Piala Dunia U20 Tahun 2023 mendatang. Untuk itu Herman Deru mengajak seluruh pihak dapat segera mematangkan segala persiapan dari segala segi.
“Dititik ini nanti (Stadion Sriwijaya) akan dilaksanakan pertandingan tingkat dunia U20. Kita harus bersiap diri tidak hanya lapangannya saja tetapi semuanya, Saya mengajak seluruh pihak dan masyarakat Sumsel untuk turut serta mensukseskan perhelatan sepak bola tingkat dunia di Sumsel,” kata Herman Deru saat diwawancarai awak media.
Karena perhelatan tersebut merupakan tingkat dunia lanjutnya, tentu Sumsel akan banyak didatangi oleh orang luar Sumsel termasuk dari mancanegara. Oleh karena itu persiapan harus dilakukan sedini mungkin mulai dari kesiapan secaraa fisik maupun non fisik.
“Karena yang datang nanti dari berbagai negara karena itu kita harus mempercantik kota kita dan layanan kita perbaiki mulai sekarang,” imbuhnya.
Sebagai Kepala Daerah Herman Deru mengaku bangga atas terpilihnya Sumsel sebagai tuan rumah Piala Dunia U20. Bukan saja sebagai tuan rumah dia berharap Indonesia nantinya bisa menjadi juara.
“Kita patut bangga dan menyambut baik dan yang terpinting kita berdoa agar Indonesia menjadi juaranya,” tandasnya.**
