RIMAUNEWS, Palembang – Kepedulian Gubernur Sumsel H. Herman Deru pada para penyandang disabilitas memang tak perlu lagi diragukan. Tak hanya mensupport dalam hal anggaran, Ia juga begitu perhatian pada berbagai pengembangan organisasi yang mewadahi para disabilitas.
Seperti baru-baru ini, Ia menginstruksikan agar semua satuan kerja di kab/kota di Sumsel, memberi perhatian khusus pada National Paralympic Commitee Indonesia (NPCI) atau Komite Paralimpiade Nasional Indonesia di daerah. Instruksi tersebut disampaikannya saat membuka acara Opening Ceremony Pekan Paralympic Pelajar Provinsi ke-I, NPCI Sumsel 26-28 September, GOR Dempo Jakabaring, Senin (26/9) siang.
” Saya apresiasi semua yang sudah berjuang agar pekan paralympic ini terselanggara. Daerah lain mungkin belum karena spiritnya belum ada.
Untuk itu Saya instruksikan satker Kabupaten/kota agar memberikan perhatian khsus pada NPCI dan bukan anggap NPCI ini ada kekurangan,” jelasnya.
Dalam kesempatan itu Ia juga mendorong Bupatu/Wako menginventarisir dan mendata putra putri dan para siswa disabilitas di berbagai sekolah yang berbakat di bidang olahraga.
“Coba ini didata dengan baik dan dicoba untuk diberikan perhatian khusus sehingga nantinya dapat membanggakan Sumsel,” jelasnya.
Lebih jauh Ia juga mengingatkan agar semua pihak serius mengembangkan bibit-bibit atlet disabilitas di Sumsel. Bukan hanya soal pendanaan tapi juga menyangkut soal moril terhadap prestasi yang di raih.
“Ini yang harus kita jaga karena mempertahankan itu lebih sulit dari pada merebut,” jelasnya.
Untuk menumbuhkan semangat mempertahankan prestasi ini tak hanya dibutuhkan dana namun yang utama adalah spirit.
” Semangat juang ini yang harus terus dijaga. Makanya NPCI teruslah berjuang mendapatkan empati karena prestasi. Jangan berharap mendapatkan empati karena kekurangan,” ujar Herman Deru menyemangati.
Dengan dukungan semua pihak dan semangat juang tinggi yang dimiliki NPCI Sumsel, Herman Deru optimistis atlet disabilitas Sumsel dapat semakin meningkatkan prestasi, meraih prestasi nasional bahkan internasional.
” Tidak ada kata yang pantas selain apresiasi setinggi-tingginya kepada semua pihak yang peduli sehingga acara ini dapat terselenggara,” ujar Herman Deru.
Sementara itu Ketua NPCI Sumsel, Ryan Yohwari mengatakan sangat bersyukur karena di masa pemerintahan Gubernur Herman Deru, Ia sangat peduli pada penyandang disabilitas tak terkecuali NPCI. Berkat dukungan anggaran yang diberika pula, event Pekan Paralympic Pelajar Provinsi NPCI Sumsel untuk pwrtama kalinya berhasil digelar dengan begitu meriah. Meski perdana sudah ada sebanya 14 kontingen kab/kota yang turun ambil bagian pada 5 cabor yang dilombakan.
“Untuk tingkat umum kitasudah sering, tapi untuk tingkat pelajar diasbilitas baru kali ini terealisasi karena baru ada anggarannya,” jelas Ryan.
Saat ini diakuinya dukungan dari Gubernur dan Pemprov Sumsel serta dinas terkait seperti Dispora, Diknas dan Dinkes begitu luar biasa. Iapun berharap ini semakin meningkatkan produktivitas NPCI Sumsel meraih prestasi.
” Tahun ini kita menjadi Provinsi paling produktif meraih medali. Dari 12 atlet yang dikirimkan sebanyak diraih sebanyak 12 medali emas, serta perak dan perunggu,” jelasnya.
Dan terbaru di tahun 2023 nanti Sumsel menjadi satu-satunya Sekolah Khusus Olahraga (SKO) yang menerima atlet disabilitas.
“Terima kasih atas ruang yang telah diberikan. Semoga prestasi atlet disabilitas ini dapat menjadi inspirasi kita semua,” jelas Ryan.
Dalam kesempatan itu Gubernur Sumsel H. Herman Deru juga berkesempatan menyerahkan penghargan kepada insan pemerhati olahraga disabilitas masing-masing kepada mantan Kepala Dispora Sumsel Ahmad Yusuf, mantan Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Sumsel Dra. Lesty Nurainy, Kadisdik Provinsi Sumsel Riza Paflevi dan Kapolda Sumsel diwakili Kapolrestabes Palembang Kombes Pol Mokhamad Ngajib.*
