OKU TIMUR – Menteri Pertanian RI, Dr Syahrul Yasin Limpo, SH., M.Si., MH menyetujui jika beras asal Provinsi Sumatera Selatan (Sumsel) menjadi salah satu pangan yang menjadi komoditas ekspor.
“Kita sedang persiapkan kualitasnya, kita sedang bicarakan dengan Pak Gubernur. Kita dukung, kita boleh ekspor karena itu kepentingan global,” ungkapnya ungkapnya usai menghadiri Peremian Jembatan Cungking, Desa Karang Kemiri, Kecamatan Belitang, OKU Timur, Sumsel, Sabtu (3/4/21).
Dijelaskan, setiap negara dan daerah memiliki kebebasan untuk melakukan ekspor. Pihaknya juga menilai produksi hasil pertanian di Sumsel memiliki ekselerasi yang cukup baik dibandingkan tahun-tahun sebelumnya.
“Kita memastikan untuk serapan ini. Masih saya bicarakan bersama Gubernur Sumsel,” ucapnya.
Dikatakannya, kebijakan impor dan ekspor menjadi kepentingan global. Indonesia memiliki kelebihan dan Sumsel memiliki kelebihan.
“Herman Deru ini gubernur terbaik di Indonesia. Karena melakukan pemerataan pembangunan infrastruktur dan peduli terhadap sektor pertanian masyarakat,” tegasnya.
Sementara itu, Gubernur Sumsel, H Herman Deru mengatakan, selama ini ada beberapa komoditas asal Sumsel yang telah ekspor, seperti karet, sawit dan kopi.
“Yang kita kejar ini bidang produk pangan. Kita ingin padi Sumsel juga diekspor,” ucapnya.
Dijelaskan Herman Deru, sejumlah komoditas yang telah di ekspor seperti karet, sawit dan kopi dilakukan melalui Lampung. Pihaknya mendorong adanya percepatan pembangunan Pelabuhan Tanjung Carat.
“Beras, kopi, sawit dan karet ini kita ingin ekspor melalui Sumsel. Tidak melalui Lampung lagi,” ucapnya.
Keinginan Gubernur Sumsel untuk melakukan ekspor beras juga sangat beralasan karena produksi pangan di Sumsel sangat berlimpah.
Seperti diketahui berdasarkan data ketersediaan dari 15 (lima belas) pangan strategis di Sumatera Selatan sejauh ini tidak perlu dikhawatirkan. Ketersediaan pangan justru melimpah pada tahun 2020 baik beras maupun telur.
Dimana produksi beras sebesar 2.696.877 Pemerintah ton dengan kebutuhan hanya sebanyak 859.744 ton sehingga terjadi surplus beras sebesar 1.837.133 ton.
Begitu juga dengan telur yang tersedia sebanyak 132.531 ton sementara yang dibutuhkan hanya 47.788 ton sehingga diperoleh surplus sebesar 98.389 ton.
Dalam kesempatan ini, Gubernur Sumsel meresmikan Jembatan Cungking, Kecaman Belitang, OKU Timur. Peresmian jembatan ini sebagai realisasi program pemerataan infrastruktur hingga ke desa-desa di Sumsel.
Sementara itu, Warga Desa Karang Kemiri, OKU Timur, Eni Sukaisi mengucapkan terimakasih kepada Gubernur Sumsel karena telah membangun jembatan sebagai akses utama warga desa.
“Dulu ada jembatan, tapi roboh sejak 1 tahun lalu. Masyarakat buat baru dengan gotong-royong. Namanya jembatan cinta,” ucapnya.
Dijelaskan Eni, jembatan hasil gotong-royong tersebut hanya bertahan satu tahu saja dan sudah tidak kayak dilewati lagi lantaran dibuat dari bahan seadanya.
“Jembatan ini satu-satunya akses jalan warga. Biasanya kami gunakan untuk aktifitas sehari-hari termasuk untuk mengangkut hasil panen seperti padi dan batu bata,” ucapnya.
