RIMAUNEWS, PALEMBAN | Unsri melaksanakan pengukuhan Guru Besar Universitas Sriwijaya Prof Hermansyah SSi MSi PhD dalam jabatan Guru Besar Kimia pada Fakultas MIPA Unsri yang bertempat di Aula Pascasarjana, Rabu (2/3/2022).
Rektor Unsri Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Anis Saggaff, MSCE, IPU., ASEAN. Eng mengatakan, saat ini Unsri memiliki 69 guru besar aktif dari total 137 guru besar. Sisanya 68 profesor sudah pensiun tetapi diberdayakan. “Jadi guru besar di atas 70 tahun, tunjangannya ditanggung Unsri, bukan Kementerian,” ujarnya.
Saat ini, lanjut Anis, Unsri memiliki lebih dari 300 dosen yang berpeluang menjadi guru besar. Namun, persyaratan terus bertambah.
“Setiap tahun persyaratan untuk menjadi profesor terus meningkat. Persyaratannya lebih berat, harus ada jurnal internasional,” ujarnya.
“Saya juga menyempatkan 300 dosen yang memenuhi syarat untuk segera mengikuti program guru besar. Apalagi untuk menjangkau Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Badan Hukum (PTN-BH) minimal 10 persen dari 300 dosen menjadi guru besar. Tahun ini kita targetkan untuk mewujudkannya. mencapai 20 persen. Jadi sekarang kita butuh 41 guru besar untuk mencapai PTN-BH. Kita targetkan tahun ini urusan PTN-BH selesai,” jelasnya.
Anis mengatakan, saya berharap pengukuhan Hermansyah menjadi pemicu bagi yang lain untuk menjadi guru besar.
“Ada tren di budaya timur, menjadi guru hebat saat tua. Budaya itu harus diubah, lebih cepat lebih baik,” di satu sisi.
“Untuk menyusun dokumen belajar-mengajar dari 300 dosen, bahkan lebih. Apalagi bagi yang menunggu publikasi. Jadi kami optimistis target penambahan 41 guru besar tahun ini bisa tercapai,” ujarnya. (Don)
